Vine – Video Social Media App Making Waves

Vine

Vine

Vine, one of the newest social media applications owned by Twitter is starting to make waves amongst users.  The application reminds me of a “video version of Instagram” more or less.  The application allows you to do in camera edits just by touching the screen to create a 7 second video clip of what’s happening around you.  Users took to the application like wildfire.  Users can like videos, comment, and tag other users like most social media sites.  So far, no place for advertising has been found, but I’m sure the company will be looking to monazite the application at some point.  Honestly I think Vine could be much bigger than Instagram.  It’s going to be a big win for Twitter vs Facebook as this app is obviously a direct play against Facebook’s Instagram.  Video is the wave of the future, and its incredibly easy user interface would allow my grandmother to make a “vine” in just seconds.  And, if that last sentence tells you anything at all it’s that Vine is here to stay – people have already started using it as a noun to replace the word “video.”
